AC Hotel Kingston Kicks off Their 5th Year Anniversary Celebration with Opening Fashion Show

In celebration of its 5th anniversary, the AC Hotel Kingston hosted a dazzling fashion show in collaboration with the Miss Universe Jamaica Pageant, transforming its lobby into a haven of style and sophistication. The event, attended by esteemed guests, celebrities, and fashion connoisseurs, showcased a stunning array of haute couture and bespoke designs, making it an unforgettable evening of glamour and grandeur.
The fashion show featured designs by Bulletz Fashion and pieces from McDermoth Williams’ Resort Line, celebrating both the hotel’s rich history and the opulence associated with its legacy in connection with The Miss Universe Fashion Show. The hotel lobby was transformed into a runway with luxurious decor, creating an atmosphere of elegant sophistication. Guests were greeted with champagne provided by Select Brands as they arrived, with ZJ Sparks providing the musical selections, setting the tone for an evening of indulgence.
The highlight of the evening was the beautiful designs created by Venessa McKenzie of Bulletz Fashion in collaboration with Uzurii International, each piece representing looks from their Resort and Jungle Fever collections. Each design featured intricate embroidery, sequins, and luxurious fabrics, embodying the essence of luxury.

In an exclusive interview with BATV, the National Director of the Miss Universe Jamaica Pageant expressed enthusiasm for the partnership: “This partnership has been ongoing for three years. We have used the AC Kingston Hotel as the official hotel partner and the home of The Miss Universe Jamaica Beauty Fashion and Wellness Pageant. As they celebrate their fifth anniversary, it is only fitting that we join in the celebration to make it fantastic and amazing. Therefore, we have engaged our 33 contestants and our reigning Miss Universe Jamaica, Dr. Jordanne Lauren Levy, in a fashion presentation with our brand, the Dermoth Williams Resort Line. We have also invited a fellow design partner on board to fully showcase our brand this evening.”
When asked about the looks featured in the fashion show, McDermoth Williams explained, “We have a couture line and a resort line. This evening, we’re showcasing resort wear with easy-to-assemble looks for both resort and urban wear, as well as our swimwear line, the official swimwear for the Miss Universe Jamaica Pageant pre-coronation. Great partnerships are crucial to our mission to empower women, and we are grateful for the support from partners like AC Hotel.”
In line with the current trend towards sustainability, the show also highlighted eco-friendly fashion from the Jungle Fever collection. Models, clad in animal print outfits, strutted down the runway, emphasizing the importance of sustainable fashion.

The event was graced by a host of celebrities and key figures in the industry. Senator Damion Crawford shared his thoughts with BATV: “I am intrigued by the brilliant and beautiful young ladies vying to represent Jamaica in the Miss Universe Pageant, so I decided to enjoy the Fashion Show.”

The show concluded with a breathtaking finale featuring all the models walking the runway in a coordinated display of swimwear looks. The designer joined the final parade, receiving applause and cheers from the audience, along with the hairstylists and makeup artists.
After the fashion show, BATV spoke with Jannel Morrison, Sales and Marketing Coordinator at the AC Hotel Kingston. Reflecting on the significance of the 5th anniversary, she said, “On June 17th, the AC Hotel celebrates five years. It’s a major milestone for any hotel. Since 2019, we have made our mark in Kingston, consistently offering urban sophistication. Our lineup for this fifth year includes a fashion show with Miss Universe Jamaica, a give-back day in Port Royal, Art Kingston in partnership with Edna Manley School of Visual and Performing Arts and Sugar Lifestyle, a Father’s Day brunch, AC Live, and a corporate mixer and grand party on June 17th.”

The 5th anniversary fashion show at the AC Hotel was a resounding success, leaving guests with memories of an enchanting evening filled with style, elegance, and celebration. The event not only marked a significant milestone for the hotel but also set a new standard for fashion shows in the hospitality industry. As the night came to a close, it was clear that the AC Hotel’s legacy of luxury and sophistication would continue to shine for many years to come.
