In a major boost to its production prowess, Honey Bun Limited is set to invest a whopping $1 billion in a new, cutting-edge facility in Angels, St Catherine. This move is a game-changer for the bakery giant, significantly expanding its manufacturing capabilities.

The ink has barely dried on the lease for a massive 160,000 square-foot mega-plant, a deal sealed last Wednesday, signaling a new era for Honey Bun. CEO Michelle Chong is buzzing with excitement, declaring, “These are exciting times.” The surge in demand for Honey Bun delights has outstripped the capacity of their existing site, making this expansion a timely venture.

Deputy CEO Daniel Chong shared insights into the strategic importance of this four-and-a-half-acre expanse, poised to kickstart operations in 7-10 months. Initially, it will house half of Honey Bun’s operations, currently situated in Retirement Crescent, Corporate Area. This move isn’t just about scaling up; it’s about reaching customers more efficiently, thanks to the new site’s prime location.

Herbert Chong, the Executive Chairman, is all in on this growth narrative, pointing out the strategic placement of the new site between two major highways, which spells better market access across Jamaica. While the Retirement Crescent site continues to serve Kingston, St Andrew, and nearby areas, the new Angels facility is set to broaden Honey Bun’s horizons island-wide.

With an air of optimism, Chong assures, “Good days are ahead for Honey Bun and our customers,” signaling a sweet future for the company and its patrons.
