Infinity Water Solutions Pioneers America’s First Blue Circular Economy Financing Framework

Innovative Approach Elevates Sustainability in Water Management

Austin, Texas – Marking a pivotal moment in environmental and financial innovation, Infinity Water Solutions has introduced the U.S.’s first-ever blue financing model with the launch of its ‘Blue Circular Economy Financing Framework’. This groundbreaking initiative is designed to intertwine environmental responsibility with economic viability, positioning water as a critical renewable resource that underpins sustainable development.

With validation from financial services leader Moody’s, the framework signifies Infinity’s commitment to integrating sustainability into its core operations. Michael Dyson, CEO of Infinity Water Solutions, emphasized the importance of this achievement: “Moody’s endorsement reinforces our dedication to merging environmental stewardship with business success. We’re proving that profitability and sustainability are not mutually exclusive but, in fact, complementary.”

A Blueprint for Sustainable Growth

Infinity’s financing framework focuses on driving investments in water conservation, recycling, and reuse projects that span various sectors, including energy, agriculture, and industry. By supporting such initiatives, the company aims to contribute meaningfully to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), particularly those related to clean water and responsible resource use.

With guidance from Wells Fargo, the framework encompasses three main categories for the use of proceeds: sustainable water and wastewater treatment, renewable energy and climate initiatives, and advanced water technologies and conservation. These projects align with the Green Bond Principles (2021) and Green Loan Principles (2023), ensuring adherence to international standards.

Commitment to Accountability and Transparency

To further solidify its pledge to sustainability, Infinity will release public impact reports detailing the environmental and social effects of the projects financed under this framework. This initiative not only highlights the company’s operational transparency but also sets a new benchmark for similar blue economy efforts.

David Szmigielski, Wells Fargo’s executive director in Sustainable Finance and Advisory, underscored the importance of this framework, stating, “Infinity’s model illustrates how unique financing structures can drive innovative solutions that reduce freshwater dependency and promote water reuse. This sets a high standard for other frameworks by enabling targeted investments in water-scarce regions.”

The Importance of a Circular Approach

In a world facing increasing resource challenges, circular economies play a vital role. Infinity’s approach focuses on transforming waste streams into valuable water products that are continuously recycled and reused, thereby maintaining a closed-loop system. This not only preserves water resources but also supports the resilience of ecosystems and communities.
