Jamaica Producers Group Celebrates Robust Growth, Driven by Pan Jamaica Group Merger

KINGSTON, Jamaica — June 15, 2025
Jamaica Producers Group (JPG) is charting a course of sustained growth, reporting an 18% year-over-year increase in core earnings, powered primarily by its strategic investment in the Pan Jamaica Group (PJG). The announcement was made at the company’s recent Annual General Meeting held at the ROK Hotel in downtown Kingston.
The financial uptick comes on the heels of the 2023 landmark merger between JPG and PanJam Investment Limited, which birthed PJG—now one of the Caribbean’s most diversified multinational conglomerates. Speaking at the AGM, JPG Managing Director Jeffrey Hall lauded the merger as a “strategic win for shareholders” and a key catalyst for financial advancement.
“JP is now clearly hitting its stride as a holding company,” Hall stated. “Pan Jamaica Group is performing beautifully, our treasury interests are solid, and the prospects for our land are emerging as expected.”
Profit Surge and Shareholder Gains
According to JPG’s 2024 audited financial statements, the company posted a net profit attributable to shareholders of J$1.6 billion, a solid increase from the normalized J$1.36 billion recorded in 2023. The rise was significantly buoyed by the strong earnings performance of PJG, in which JPG holds the single largest shareholder position. PJG’s contribution constituted the bulk of JPG’s income for the year.
PJG itself reported a remarkable 80% year-over-year increase in net profit attributable to its shareholders in 2024. The performance was bolstered across three of its four key business segments—Property and Infrastructure, Specialty Foods, and Global Services—while Financial Services held steady.
Momentum Carries into 2025
The growth trajectory has continued into 2025. For the first quarter alone, JPG registered a 144% surge in net profit, reaching J$585 million. This impressive gain was once again attributed to PJG’s continued momentum.
To deepen its investment stance, JPG acquired an additional 1.7 million PJG shares in Q1 2025, underlining its long-term confidence in the group’s ability to drive value. JPG’s total assets now stand at J$38.1 billion, with shareholders’ equity amounting to J$37.4 billion.
“Our platform is stronger than ever. We are well-positioned for the opportunities ahead,” said Hall, highlighting the company’s debt-free balance sheet as a competitive advantage in exploring future investment ventures.
Real Estate Strength and Strategic Outlook
Beyond PJG, JPG manages a diversified portfolio of real estate and treasury holdings. This includes over 3,500 acres of farmland and commercial properties located in St. Mary and Kingston. The value of these investment properties increased by J$141 million in 2024, reflecting robust market conditions and shrewd asset management.
JPG Chairman Charles Johnston emphasized the company’s strategic focus:
“Our vision aligns with the long-term development of value across all core business pillars. PJG’s growth reinforces our strategy and strengthens our commitment to shareholders.”
Looking Ahead
As JPG continues to evolve as a premier Caribbean holding company, its leadership remains optimistic. With PJG delivering exceptional returns and a resilient asset base, the group appears poised for a new era of financial strength and strategic expansion.
For Jamaican investors and the wider Caribbean business community, JPG’s performance signals not only the success of consolidation strategies but also the potential of homegrown conglomerates to thrive on the regional and global stage.
