Negril’s Cave’s Hotel To Be Sold For US $ 18.9 million

The Caves Hotel, owned by well-known producer and founder of Island Records, Chris Blackwell, is up for sale. The Resort Property, aptly described as “One of Jamaica’s most iconic hotels” and an emblem of history and charm, has been listed for a US $18.9 million sale price.
A celebrity hotspot in Negril’s famed West End, it is the second hotel owned by Blackwell, the music producer of the late reggae legend Bob Marley, to be put up for sale in less than two months. The other being Marley’s former hideaway, The Strawberry Hill Hotel. Like the Strawberry Hill Property, Caves has been listed for sale by Compass U.S. Marketing Partners
Ivan Hernandez, Leslie Cooper, and Alex Miranda.

The 13-acre hotel is famous for its Caribbean sunsets and sandy beaches – it has also been frequented by celebrities like Harrison Ford, Scarlett Johanson, and Bono.

The Negril Hotel is located on Lighthouse Road and is perched on the town’s limestone cliffs, ranging from 10 to 40 feet in height that overlook the Caribbean Sea. Not only is the resort famous for cliff jumping but was also used as a backdrop for the 1965 James Bond film,
Thunderball. As a prime piece of real estate, the property is located only 80 minutes outside of Montego Bay on the north coast of Jamaica and is less than two hours away from the city’s airport.

Designed in a rustic plantation style, the property is full of potential to grow even more and provide more locations throughout the resort where guests can stay. The next owner of The Caves Hotel has a chance to add 35 new cottages to the property along with 17 additional lots.
