RIU Negril Reopens After Major Renovation with Upgraded Amenities and New Features

RIU Negril, the luxurious 5-star beachfront hotel located in the beautiful Bloody Bay area of Negril, has officially resumed operations after a comprehensive four-month renovation. Initially opened in 2004, the hotel now features 600 newly refurbished rooms, including 28 additional swim-up rooms that offer guests the ultimate in privacy with direct access to pools right from their rooms.
The hotel’s refreshed design exudes a contemporary style, with clean lines and a bright interior that incorporates natural materials and soft tones, enhancing the tranquil and welcoming atmosphere. The lobby, one of the most notable upgrades, is now an inviting tropical space, with lush vegetation and natural wood and stone elements that evoke the beauty of Jamaica’s landscapes.
In addition to the newly designed rooms, RIU Negril now offers guests an enhanced culinary experience with a total of eight restaurants, including three exciting new additions: the “American Country” themed restaurant, “Pepe’s Food,” and a “Tiki Taco” station for those craving authentic Mexican cuisine. This diverse offering ensures that guests can enjoy a variety of dining options to suit all tastes.
The renovation also includes the addition of two new event and conference spaces, making the property an even more attractive option for business and group gatherings. For leisure, the hotel now boasts five refitted swimming pools: one for water activities, a quiet pool, a general-use pool, a children’s pool, and one with a new water bar, bringing the hotel’s total number of bars to six. For those looking for something more active, the hotel has installed three pickleball courts, capitalizing on the growing popularity of the sport.
Starting December 19, guests will also be able to enjoy the newly launched RIU Party events. Every Thursday, the Neon Party and White Party events will take place in the hotel’s theater, offering an exciting nightlife experience for all ages.
RIU’s presence in Jamaica has grown significantly since the opening of its first hotel in 2001 with the RIU Palace Tropical Bay in Negril. With the addition of RIU Negril and properties in Montego Bay, Ocho Rios, and Falmouth, RIU now operates seven hotels across the island, offering a total of 4,274 rooms. This expansion solidifies RIU’s position as one of the leading international hotel chains in Jamaica, catering to both leisure and business travelers seeking top-tier accommodations in one of the most picturesque locations in the Caribbean.
