Rolls-Royce Unveils Exclusive “Private Office” in Manhattan, Elevating Bespoke Luxury to New Heights

Rolls-Royce has taken its legendary personalization services to new levels with the opening of its first U.S. “Private Office” in New York City’s Meatpacking District. This latest venture reflects the British automaker’s growing focus on ultra-high-end, customized vehicles tailored to the desires of its elite clientele, rather than simply increasing production numbers.

Despite delivering just 6,032 vehicles in the previous year—far fewer than rivals like Ferrari—Rolls-Royce continues to experience significant profit growth under its parent company, BMW. The secret to the brand’s enduring success lies in its unique approach to craftsmanship and customization, catering to an audience that demands one-of-a-kind creations.

The new Private Office in Manhattan offers an exclusive space for Rolls-Royce customers to engage in the design and commissioning of bespoke vehicles. Clients collaborate directly with expert designers to craft a vehicle that mirrors their individuality. Whether it’s matching the exterior paint to the exact shade of their dog’s eyes or incorporating rare materials like mother-of-pearl into the interior, the possibilities for personalization are virtually limitless.

Chris Brownridge, Rolls-Royce’s CEO, highlighted the lengths to which the company will go to meet these highly specialized requests. “Clients may ask for something as unique as panels made from their own private collection of rare materials or the color of their car to be inspired by something deeply personal to them,” he noted.

The Private Office caters exclusively to these sophisticated and costly projects under Rolls-Royce’s renowned “Bespoke” program. With a starting price for a Phantom at just under $500,000, customized features can easily push the final cost beyond $1 million. Unlike a traditional dealership, the Private Office is a serene and elegant space where customers focus solely on their project. The building itself is discreet, with clients accessing it through a secure elevator after passing through a black security screen.

The New York location marks the automaker’s third Private Office globally, following launches in Dubai and Shanghai, with another planned in Seoul. Rolls-Royce has been strategic in expanding its presence, allowing clients worldwide to collaborate with its craftspeople without traveling to the Goodwood factory in the U.K. As personalization requests grow in both scale and complexity, Rolls-Royce is also expanding its bespoke workshops to meet this demand.

Among the notable creations that have emerged from the Bespoke program is a Phantom adorned with over a million embroidered roses, commissioned by a client seeking floral inspiration. Another involved sourcing rare Koa wood over three years for a Phantom project that required more than 500 hours to complete.

Brownridge emphasized the personal connection clients feel with their vehicles, saying, “Many of our clients would never part with their cars—they’re not just vehicles but deeply personal works of art.”

To maintain the highest standards of craftsmanship, Rolls-Royce encourages clients to visit the Goodwood factory, where they can meet the artisans responsible for bringing their visions to life. “Each client is treated as part of the Rolls-Royce family,” Brownridge said. “The relationship goes beyond the car itself; it’s about being part of the entire creative journey.”

As Rolls-Royce continues to innovate, the Private Office concept underscores the brand’s commitment to crafting vehicles that are more than just cars—they are bespoke masterpieces, personalized to reflect the unique tastes and lifestyles of the world’s wealthiest clients.
