Sandals Resorts International Expands Beaches Resorts with Nearly $1 Billion Investment

Sandals Resorts International is making a bold move to redefine luxury family vacations, committing nearly $1 billion to expand its all-inclusive Beaches Resorts brand across the Caribbean. This ambitious initiative aims to double the brand’s footprint within five years, adding new properties in Barbados, The Bahamas, Jamaica, and Turks and Caicos.

A Vision for Luxury Family Travel

Adam Stewart, Executive Chairman of Sandals Resorts International, announced the expansion during a press event in New York City, emphasizing the company’s dedication to meeting the growing demand for premium family-friendly travel experiences. The expansion includes the introduction of new destinations and transformative resort developments, elevating the standard for all-inclusive family vacations.

New Beaches Resorts Destinations

1. Beaches Barbados

Barbados will welcome its first Beaches resort in late 2025, featuring:

  • 600 rooms, including four-bedroom oceanfront suites
  • A lively ‘Main Street’, serving as the heart of the resort, with dining, shopping, outdoor performance spaces, and a sports bar
  • State-of-the-art family-friendly amenities

2. Beaches Exuma, The Bahamas

For the first time, Beaches Resorts is coming to The Bahamas with a reimagined Sandals Emerald Bay, transforming it into a family-centric retreat with:

  • 249 luxury suites and villas
  • Located on 500 acres of pristine beachfront property
  • Expansive family-friendly entertainment and activities

3. Beaches Runaway Bay, Jamaica

Perfectly situated between Montego Bay and Ocho Rios, Beaches Runaway Bay will feature:

  • 400 suites and villas
  • A skate park, bike trails, wellness areas, and farm-to-table dining
  • Access to the Runaway Bay Golf Club

4. Treasure Beach Village, Turks and Caicos

Expanding Beaches Turks and Caicos, this new development will add:

  • 101 suite-style accommodations, including beachfront villas for larger families
  • The brand’s first international food hall
  • Bringing the resort’s total capacity to 858 luxury rooms

A Growing Demand for Family-Focused Travel

These expansions follow the recent enhancement of Beaches Negril in Jamaica, which introduced luxury villas and penthouse suites to cater to multi-generational family travel. With a focus on wellness, immersive dining, and personalized experiences, Beaches Resorts aims to set a new benchmark for family vacations.

“Families are looking for more than just a vacation – they want a seamless, luxurious experience that caters to every generation,” Stewart explained. “This expansion is not just about growth; it’s about reimagining what family vacations can be.”

A Strategic Investment in Caribbean Tourism

Sandals Resorts International’s investment in family travel is a testament to its long-term confidence in Caribbean tourism. By doubling down on its family-friendly offerings, the brand continues to lead the all-inclusive luxury segment, ensuring unforgettable island escapes for families across the globe.

With these new properties, Beaches Resorts is set to redefine the Caribbean family vacation experience, offering world-class service, innovative amenities, and breathtaking locations for travelers seeking luxury, comfort, and adventure.
